That’s why they approached BioPak to provide sustainable, compostable packaging for their 12 stores across Sydney. It’s one thing to use compostable packaging, but Calipress takes it to the next level, diverting all food waste and packaging from landfill and converting it into nutrient-rich compost by having compost bins available in-store.
Cali Press also partnered with Compost Connect who help businesses connect with Compost Partners to collect food waste and compostable packaging, transport it to an industrial composting facility and turn it into nutrient-rich compost. Cali Press has been composting with Compost Connect since 2018!
The Products
BioPak provides Cali Press with custom-branded PLA bowls and cups, coffee cups, bioboard trays and bagasse bowls. Every cup, tray, bowl, cutlery item and coffee cup lid can be disposed of, with food waste directly into the supplied compost bins!

The Solution
From July 21- June 22, by using BioPak compostable packaging, Cali Press has offset 64, 359 kg of carbon, avoided the use of 17,305 kg of plastic and planted 15 trees which restores endangered and richly diverse rainforests that sequester carbon from the atmosphere.
