Takeaway Bags for Restaurants & Food Delivery
Plastic pollution is wreaking havoc on our planet, and plastic disposable bags are one of the most significant contributors, so it’s no surprise that many local and state governments worldwide have banned them. Our takeaway bags were designed with the health of the planet in mind.
While we can all agree that there is a need to reduce plastic shopping bag consumption, there are some instances where single-use bags are still required for hygienic reasons or to enable food delivery services. BioPak bags are a much more sustainable single-use bag option – they are compostable, and 5% of profits from each sale is donated to positive change.
Bioplastic Bags
Our bioplastic bags range includes compostable bin liners and provides a sustainable alternative to plastic bags. They can easily stand in for garbage bags, doggy waste bags, kitchen bags, shopping bags, retail bags and any other type of plastic bag. They can be particularly useful for collecting organic waste – like home compost or food scraps – as these bags will decompose in a home and industrial composting environment.
Our bioplastic BioBags are made using Ecopond, a starch-based bioplastic certified industrially compostable (AS4736) and home compostable (AS5810) to Australian standards. Unlike ‘biodegradable plastic bags’, these bio bags are made from plants, not oil, and are part of the circular economy. ‘Biodegradable plastic bags’ are usually plastic bags with a chemical additive that causes them to disintegrate into tiny microplastics! Using our compostable bags reduces greenhouse gases, returns nutrients to the earth when composted, improves soil quality, and can cost less than sending waste to a landfill. Consult your local waste provider for disposal options, or visit Compost Connect.
Kraft Paper Bags
BioPak paper bags are a sustainable alternative to plastic bags. Kraft paper BioPak bags are made from FSC™ Mix certified unlined paper. Strong and sturdy, these disposable bags can be stored easily, making them ideal for takeaway. They are home compostable, industrially compostable and recyclable in kerbside recycling if not contaminated with food. Our paper bags with handles are available in twisted, flat and die-cut handles. Looking for custom paper bags? We offer free printing and design services so you can carry your brand further – minimum order quantities apply.
