The Problem With Single-Use Plastic Cups

After a short useful life of approximately 20 minutes, these cups usually end up in a landfill, where it takes hundreds of years to break down. Biodegradable is Misleading

When it comes to biodegradable clear cups, the term ‘biodegradable’ is often misused by marketers. The claims that a special additive can help conventional plastic 'biodegrade' are unsubstantiated and do not carry independent certification. On the contrary, research shows that these plastics fragment into small pieces but do not disappear. In addition, using (biodegradable plastic) doesn’t solve the issue of using fossil fuel resources.
