Stylish, Convenient and Sustainable Cold Cups

On a hot day, there’s nothing better than a cool refreshing drink on the go! Our cold cups are the most practical, convenient and hygienic option for serving takeaway cold drinks. Designed for ice cold drinks, discover our range of clear and paper cold drink cups. Our clear cups range offers a variety of sizes to suit your every need, while our paper cold cups range comes in various fashionable prints to suit your style.

Disposal

Our cold drink takeaway cups are sturdy and versatile, with matching leak-proof lids available. They are certified industrially compostable to Australian (AS4736) standards. Rather than being destined for landfill like most conventional plastic cups, our cold cups have been designed for the circular economy to be industrially composted.

The Problem With Single-Use Plastic Cups

Conventional single-use plastic cold cups are made from fossil fuels. After a short useful life of approximately 20 minutes, these cups usually end up in a landfill, where it takes hundreds of years to break down. BioCup cold drink cups are a sustainable, practical, convenient and hygienic option for serving takeaway cold drinks. These compostable cups are versatile and can be used as beer cups, yoghurt cups, dessert cups, fruit cups and more. A selection (R-420, R-360Y) of our clear and paper cups are weights and measures approved for the service of alcohol.

Take climate action by choosing these disposable cold drink cups with lids as an eco-friendly alternative to plastic cups. Read more in our blog about why single-use plastic is a problem.

The Solution: Clear Cups

BioPak offers a range of eco-friendly clear cups suitable for a range of cold beverages – and can even be used to package takeaway muesli, fruit salads and desserts! Our clear cold cups are made from Ingeo™ – a bioplastic made from plants and offer a more sustainable alternative to plastic cups. They look and perform like traditional clear plastic cups with lids when serving cold food and drinks.

Biodegradable is Misleading

When it comes to biodegradable clear cups, the term ‘biodegradable’ is often misused by marketers. The claims that a special additive can help conventional plastic 'biodegrade' are unsubstantiated and do not carry independent certification. On the contrary, research shows that these plastics fragment into small pieces but do not disappear. In addition, using (biodegradable plastic) doesn’t solve the issue of using fossil fuel resources.

On a hot day, there’s nothing better than a cool refreshing drink on the go. Our disposable cups for cold drinks are practical, convenient and hygienic.

Whatever ice cold drink you’re serving, our range of clear and paper cold drink cups have got you covered. Available in a range of sizes to suit your every need. Plus, our paper cold cups come in various fashionable prints to suit your style.

The Problem With Single-Use Plastic Cups

Single-use plastic cold cups are often made from finite fossil fuels. After a short useful life, these cups usually end up in a landfill as plastic pollution, where they can take hundreds of years to break down. Even then, they turn into tiny microplastics that pollute the environment.

At BioPak, we manufacture better alternatives to plastic cups. We offer single-use cups made from rapidly renewable, responsibly sourced materials like FSC Paper and PLA Bioplastic. They’re certified industrially compostable to Australian Standards (AS4736) and designed for the circular economy.

Take action. Choose these disposable cold drink cups with lids as a sustainable alternative to plastic cups. Read more about Bioplastics vs Plastics.

About Our Clear Cups

BioPak offers a range of clear cups suitable for a range of cold beverages. You can even use them to package takeaway muesli, fruit salads and desserts.

We make our clear cold cups from PLA bioplastic. While it looks like traditional plastic, PLA comes from plant-based resources like corn, cassava and sugarcane. PLA clear plastic cups with lids are see-through, sturdy and durable.

Our paper cold cups are certified industrially compostable to Australian and European standards (AS4736 & EN13432).

How to Dispose of Cold Cups

Our cold drink takeaway cups are sturdy and versatile, with matching leak-proof lids available. To fully realise the benefits of compostable cold cups, correct disposal – in a compost facility and not landfill – is essential. Certified industrially compostable cups are designed for a circular economy. Rather than being destined for landfill, they can be sent to an industrial compost facility to break down.

To promote correct disposal, we launched Compost Connect – a composting platform connecting foodservice businesses to commercial organic waste pick-up services. With 23 compost partners servicing 2,200+ postcodes across Australia and New Zealand, businesses can search their postcode to find out if an organics collection is available in their area. ‘Biodegradable Plastic Cups’ is Misleading

When it comes to biodegradable clear cups, the term ‘biodegradable’ is often misused by marketers. Almost anything can biodegrade over time (even conventional plastic products). But that doesn’t mean it breaks down properly or safely.

There’s no independent certification governing the use of the term ‘biodegradable’, leaving consumers in the dark about what it really means. Instead of calling them biodegradable cold cups, we opt for phrases like certified compostable cups which can be backed up by certifications.

What About ‘Eco-Friendly Cold Cups’?

Our customers often refer to our takeaway cups as ‘eco-friendly cups.’ However, we choose to steer away from this phrase to prevent greenwashing. Instead, we opt for phrases like certified compostable cups, which can be substantiated and backed up by certifications.
