We all love going to a Farm Park. Take cute animals, and pair them with a farm park that has decided to be sustainable, and you’ve got yourself a winner.
We chatted to Oliver Arundel from Attwell Farm Park to learn more about them, and why they’ve made the decision to swap to sustainable packaging.

Who are you and what do you guys do?
We are Attwell Farm Park, an award winning Farm in Beoley, Worcestershire. We’re open to the public 7 days a week.
When did you start using compostable packaging, and what sparked this decision?
We started to use BioPak packaging in June 2022 after they were suggested to us at a Visit Worcestershire networking meeting about sustainability. With over 100,000 visitors through our doors each year, we knew we had to make some changes to better our future. Attwell Farm Park is 100% committed to making a positive impact, and over the coming months and years, we want to get as close as we can to achieve net-zero for a livestock farm.
Where did you guys hear about BioPak?
At a ‘Visit Worcestershire’ network meeting, where tourism businesses in Worcestershire meet to exchange ideas and updates.
What makes our products a good fit for your business?
As an education and tourist attraction, we have already done 160,000 meals this year… that’s a lot of waste! During term time, we host school visits and teach children the importance of protecting the environment and wildlife. Moving to biodegradable packaging shows these children ways we can all do our bit to help.

If you had to choose one of our products, which would be your favourite and why?
The BioCane Clamshell food packaging we now use is great. We love letting our customers know that we are using biodegradable packaging.
If there’s one word you could use to describe your experience with BioPak, what would it be?
Innovative!
Do you find that your customers are interested in hearing about packaging, where it’s come from and the benefits it has on the environment?
We do. We have found that we now have a little bit more to say to our customers when they purchase our food…and that the packaging we use is better for the environment!
Are there any tips you could give companies that haven’t yet made the switch to no plastic products, or are maybe thinking about it but aren’t sure where to start?
Not only are we saving on waste cost, but we now have a feel good factor to the business. And in today's society, we find that people are happier purchasing products they know will not affect the environment.

By switching to BioPak, Attwell Farm Park will be saving 409kg of plastic per year, offsetting 2,545kg of carbon, and creating 286kg of compost.
