BioPak PIDA Awards 2024

What Are The WorldStar Packaging Awards?

The Packaging & Processing Innovation and Design Awards (PIDA) recognises leaders in the packaging industry, celebrating innovation and excellence in design. Held annually and organised by the Australian Institute of Packaging, the Australian Packaging and Processing Machinery Association, and Packaging New Zealand, the PIDA Awards provide a prestigious platform for businesses to highlight advancements in sustainability, design, and user engagement.

This year, BioPak is thrilled to announce that we have won two PIDA awards for 2024:

Labelling & Decoration Design of the Year - Bronze Winner

BioPak’s Art Series and Indigenous Art Series Cups took home the Bronze award in the Labelling & Decoration Design category. These cups feature vibrant designs that celebrate and amplify Indigenous voices, cultural stories, and artistry. The Indigenous Art Series highlights Indigenous Australian artists, bringing attention to their unique stories and perspectives. By merging stunning visuals with functionality, we aim to give consumers an enriching, cultural experience with each cup they use.

BioPak is committed to working with talented artists to foster social impact through packaging that tells a story. Purchasing these Indigenous Art Series cups directly supports CorporateConnect.AB's pro-bono work assisting Indigenous youth. CCAB is on a mission to link the corporate sector to the Indigenous community, enterprise, education and employment initiatives.

2% of sales are donated to the Ethan Indigenous IT Cadetship Program – a program that teaches Australian and Torres Strait Islander youth digital literacy and provides pathways to careers in IT and administrative services.

Sustainable Packaging Design - Compostable - Gold Winner

Our Home Compostable Range received top honours with the Gold award in the Sustainable Packaging Design - Compostable category. This range is part of our dedication to creating truly sustainable products that offer an end-of-life solution in consumers’ own homes. Made with FSC™ certified paper and compostable linings, our home compostable products break down naturally, providing an eco-friendly alternative that does not require industrial composting facilities.

These products allow consumers to compost their packaging conveniently, helping reduce landfill waste. Our Home Compostable Range showcases BioPak’s commitment to designing packaging that serves the planet and keeps us aligned with our mission of sustainable innovation.

The BioPak team is incredibly honoured by this recognition from PIDA, and we remain dedicated to developing products that protect our planet, support artists, and drive forward sustainable packaging solutions.
