Why We Support This Charity

They make a real difference in the lives of needy Australians every single day.

About the Charity

They offer support in two key ways: “Housing Solutions” and “Food Solutions.” Food Solutions provide support to thousands of local people in need on a weekly basis, through programs such as their Brown Paper Bag Project, Free Food Shops and Hot Meals on the Streets. As a charity meal provider, Christ Mission Possible serves up 700 meals and gives away 1,500 food hampers a week to those in need throughout a footprint stretching from Blacktown to Springwood in Sydney’s west.

Our Impact

A cold call asking for help in 2011 sparked the flourishing relationship between BioPak and charity meal provider Christ Mission Possible.

“We were hoping to source these items free of charge. Someone mentioned BioPak to us and we decided to give them a call,’’ Mr Michael said.

Since that first call in 2011 BioPak has donated tens of thousands of food packaging products to the charity, moving from gifting surplus and redundant stock to filling specific orders.

CMP Food Solutions Coordinator, Andrew Michael, said as the scale of the charity’s work surged, they identified a desperate need for disposable plates and takeaway containers.

“We are very grateful to BioPak, of course,’’ Mr Michael said. “Now they are giving us exactly what we need which is even better.’’

BioPak CEO, Gary Smith, said he was happy to support a charity that was making a real difference in the lives of Australians in need every single day – “Once I found out the impact of the work they do, I was keen to get on board and support them as much as possible.”

As a self-funded charity which works with churches as well as service providers in the health and community sectors, Mr Michael said Christ Mission Possible had really benefited from the extra environmental credentials working with BioPak had given them.

“It really strengthens our position when we pitch our services to be able to talk about our focus on limiting our environmental impact,’’ he explained.

By harvesting and rescuing food which would otherwise find its way into landfill Christ Mission Possible was already a charity with a positive environmental effect, but with BioPak’s help, they are now able to assist the needy in a way which is even gentler on the planet.
