Everything we make has an impact on the planet. Our vision is a world without waste, driving change toward a circular economy. We are closing the loop with our innovative compostable food packaging and encouraging the growth of the local industrial compost industry.
The raw materials choice is a critical part of the circular economy – that is why we choose rapidly renewable, reclaimed plant-based raw materials as alternatives to regular plastic. Our products are designed to turn into compost, a new valuable and locally produced resource, at the end of their useful life.
We act as industry stewards to enable our customers to dispose of our products responsibly, in the most environmentally friendly way. Producer responsibility is a critical part in a global shift towards a circular economy.
We are committed to purchasing carbon credits to compensate for the unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions created through the production, transportation and disposal of our products.
Facilities certifications are one of the important factors in our partner selection process. Our production partner facilities are certified to internationally recognised ISO 14000 Environmental Management Standard – or are in the process of applying for certification.
BioPak is committed to adopt and promote best practices aligned with the Triple Bottom Line: People, Planet, Profit. In addition, we are carbon neutral and donate a percentage of profits to environmental restoration initiatives and community programs. In 2020 we worked with Magic Breakfast, Shelter and Worcester Food Trust, providing over 20,000 breakfasts and food to those living in food poverty.
