Profit For Purpose

BioPak is committed to adopt and promote best practices aligned with the Triple Bottom Line: People, Planet, Profit. As a certified B Corporation, we are a for-profit company that uses the power of business to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy. The B Corp movement has been pioneering a new way of doing business, which requires increased stewardship, complete transparency and a real shift in priorities. BioPak is a B Corp because we believe in profit for purpose, using business as a force for good. Being carbon neutral is a priority and BioPak are working towards a net zero goal. We also started the BioPak Give Back Fund in 2012 and since have dedicated time, energy and a total of AUD $3,363,945 to social and environmental restoration initiatives.

Give Back Fund

We started the BioPak Give Back Fund in 2012 and since have dedicated our time, energy and a total of AUD $3,363,945.

B Corp Certified

BioPak is certified B Corp, meaning we meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.

Carbon Neutral

All BioPak products and business operations are carbon neutral. This means we offset all the unavoidable carbon emissions associated with the raw material, products, transportation and disposal of our products.

1% of Profits Donated
to Tree Planting

We donate 1% to protect forests via Rainforest Rescue, Greenfleet and Ecologi. Since 2012, we’ve planted 84,392 trees in various locations and purchased five hectares of land for regeneration in the Daintree Rainforest.

Our Progress

BioPak is carbon neutral and committed to purchase carbon credits to compensate for the unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions created through the production, transportation and disposal of our products. Work is underway to reduce our carbon footprint further, by investigating the use of renewable energy within our supply chain.

We have been a B Corp since 2018. We’re aiming to improve our score and achieve B Corp certification for our UK business. We plan to get further involved with the local B Corps to use our collective voice for government advocacy. This year we supported WWF’s Renewable Nation campaign.

We donate 1% of profits to protecting trees. Trees give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilise soil and support the world’s wildlife. In the last 12 months, we have planted nearly 34,000 trees.

We donate 4% of profits to charities and social enterprises to support positive change in our local communities. We work with many social enterprises that focus on meal delivery. In the next 12 months, we are looking to really ramp up the number of meals we contribute by partnering with OzHarvest. Read More >

Our Work Rescuing and Planting Trees

In Australia, we have been supporting Rainforest Rescue’s restoration and native forest buy-back projects for 10 years this year! We have helped them plant 47,943 trees and purchase five hectares of threatened rainforest in the Daintree Rainforest, in far north Queensland. Long-term and reliable partnerships like this really help charitable organisations think big and thrive.

Our Work with Charities

In Australia, we have ongoing partnerships with social enterprises like STREAT, who train homeless youth to find their feet through employment in the hospitality industry and CorporateConnect.AB who support Indigenous youth employment across Australia.

In April 2022, we have ramped up our partnership with OzHarvest. In 12 months we will help them deliver 200,000 meals to some of Australia’s most vulnerable communities. Every dollar BioPak donates can feed two Australians, and we are humbled to know that our contribution will allow OzHarvest to continue their amazing work.
