Climate Reality Training with Al Gore

The climate reality project with Get Loud statement

Richard attended the Client Reality Leadership Corps Training Course held recently in Melbourne with Al Gore. Read some insights here.

“Never underestimate the power of a small group of committed people to change the world. In fact, it is the only thing that ever has.”

- Margaret Mead

I was privileged to attend the Climate Reality Leadership Corps Training Course held recently in Melbourne. Together with 500 passionate and concerned citizens from all walks of life, we listened to the story of remarkable individuals from various countries including Australia who are affecting real change by engaging with local communities and raising awareness around global warming.

The highlight, of course, was the enthusiastic and riveting presentation by Al Gore, where he presented the latest scientific research on global warming and the environmental and social impact of climate change. I feel honoured to be part of a global network of more than 6,000 trained climate reality leaders working in more than 100 countries committed to taking on the climate crisis and solving the greatest threat humanity has ever faced by educating and empowering communities to take action on climate change.

Ninety-seven per cent of climate scientists agree that man-made climate change is a reality. We know it’s happening, and we know why: carbon pollution is warming our planet resulting in extreme droughts, flooding, wildfires, and superstorms. And we’re all paying the price for it in lives, livelihoods, food and water scarcity, and in every way imaginable.

What can we do? Reduce carbon pollution. Right now, scientists tell us that we’re on track to see global temperatures rise up to 4°C by the end of the century, with a shift to a clean-energy economy, we can still create the sustainable and prosperous future we all want.

But we have to act now.

The fight for our climate laws is just heating up and we all need to step up and play our part. And there are many ways you can help, so wherever you are, whatever you do, and whatever time you have, you can do something right now to bring us one step closer to a future without carbon pollution. Feel free to contact me or visit the Climate Reality Project website.

Whether it’s watching a video that expands your awareness of the issue, sharing a post, signing a petition, reaching out to your leaders, the actions you take can have a real impact and help take our movement forward.

We can create a better future, but only if we do it together.
