What is the Bondi2Barossa Ride to Remember?
The Bondi2Barossa Ride to Remember is an annual cycling event that brings together individuals and teams to raise funds for dementia research and care. The event was established in 2016 by Peter Burge, who wanted to honor his mother's memory and raise awareness about the challenges faced by those living with dementia.
Starting from Bondi Beach in Sydney, participants embark on a challenging 14-day journey, covering over 1600 km to reach Barossa Valley in South Australia. The event attracts cyclists from all walks of life, ranging from experienced athletes to those who are new to cycling.
The event is not only a physical challenge but also an opportunity to create meaningful connections and raise awareness about dementia. In addition to the cycling challenge, participants also engage in various community events and activities to promote the cause.
How is BioPak supporting this charity?
This year BioPak is supporting the cause with a donation of $5000. We believe in supporting our community and making a positive impact, and the event aligns perfectly with our values. With our head office being located in Bondi Junction, we love to get involved in local activities and events with our fellow community members.
The Bondi2Barossa Ride to Remember is not only an incredible physical achievement but also a heartwarming display of community support for those living with dementia. The event continues to grow in popularity and impact, making a significant contribution to dementia research and care.
As a profit-for-purpose business, we are driven to preserve and protect the environment and give back to the communities we live in. We donate profits to charities and social enterprises to support positive change in the community, and we are proud to be supporting and raising awareness for such an important cause and ultimately helping fight this debilitating disease.
