BioPak Containers Made From Plant-Based Materials

Searching for eco-friendly alternatives to plastic takeaway containers? Look no further. BioPak containers are the most sustainable takeaway containers on the market. Our eco-friendly food containers are made from rapidly renewable, responsibly sourced resources like plastic-free sugarcane pulp and other plant fibres, bioplastic and paperboard. Not only do we make food service packaging made from plants that are better for the planet, but we also donate 5% of profits from each sale of our food and beverage packaging products to positive change.

How To Dispose of BioPak Containers Responsibly

BioPak eco-friendly takeaway containers are a better option for the planet, but their correct disposal plays a big part in this. We design for the circular economy, and most of our eco-friendly takeaway containers can be either recycled or composted. The correct disposal method is listed on each product on our website. Please note there are different types of composting, such as; industrial composting and home composting – knowing the difference is essential to correct disposal

Home Composting

If a product is certified home compostable to Australian (AS5810) standards, it means that it has been through stringent testing to certify it will break down in a home composting environment within several months and up to two years. The rate at which it breaks down depends on the environment, the temperature and other organic materials in your home compost bin.

Industrial Composting

When a product is certified industrially compostable to Australian (AS4736) standards, this means it needs special conditions to help break the material down. Industrial composting facilities use special machinery and controlled temperatures to expedite the breakdown of organic matter.

For more information on the difference between these two types of composting, read our Commercial Composting vs Home Composting blog.

Your Business Can Start Composting Today!

Composting food packaging reduces greenhouse gases, returns nutrients to the earth and improves soil quality, and in some situations, can reduce your waste disposal costs. Find out more about how you can start composting through Compost Connect.
