Profit for Purpose

BioPak is committed to adopting and promoting best practices aligned with the Triple Bottom Line: People, Planet, and Profit. As a certified B Corporation, we are a for-profit company that uses the power of business to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy. The B Corp movement has been pioneering a new way of doing business, which requires increased stewardship, complete transparency and a fundamental shift in priorities. BioPak is a B Corp because we believe in profit for purpose, using business as a force for good. We also started the BioPak Give Back Fund in 2012 and have since dedicated time, energy and a total of AUD $4,279,696 to social and environmental restoration initiatives.

B Corp Certified

BioPak is certified B Corp, meaning we meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.

139,587 Trees Planted or Rescued

We donate 1% of profits to protect forests via Rainforest Rescue, Greenfleet and Ecologi. Since 2012, we’ve helped plant 139,587 trees.

171,877 Meals Donated

Feeding people in need with not-for-profit food rescue organisations OzHarvest, KiwiHarvest and Worcester Food Bank Since 2022.

Became a B Corp in the UK

We have been a B Corp since 2018 for our businesses in the APAC region. Reassessment is required every two years and we just recently renewed and scored the highest score of all packaging B Corps. This year we proudly achieved B Corp certification for our UK business.

ON TRACK

Plant more trees

We donate 1% of profits to protecting trees. Trees give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilise soil and support the world’s wildlife. In the last 12 months, we have planted or rescued 34,560 trees.

Donate more meals

We donate 4% of profits to charities and social enterprises to support positive change in our local communities. We work with many social enterprises that focus on meal delivery. In the last 12 months, we have help OzHarvest in Australia, KiwiHarvest in New Zealand and Worcester Foodbank in the United Kingdom deliver a total of 169,355 meals to people in need in the last 12 months.


Profit for Purpose Highlights


Our Work Rescuing and Planting Trees

In Australia, we have supported Rainforest Rescue’s restoration and native forest buy-back projects for 10 years! We have helped them plant or rescue a total of 63,828 trees and purchase five hectares of threatened rainforest in the Daintree Rainforest in far north Queensland. Long-term and reliable partnerships like this help charitable organisations think big and thrive.

In New Zealand, we have continued our conservation program with Greenfleet – a leading not-for-profit environmental organisation on a mission to protect our climate by restoring forests in New Zealand. They plant native biodiverse forests to offset carbon emissions and help fight the impacts of climate change.

In the United Kingdom, we have supported Ecologi – an environmental organisation that champions two significant factors in tackling the current climate crisis; carbon reduction and tree planting. So far, we have helped them plant 54,362 trees and will continue to support responsible tree planting.

Our Work with Charities

We have ongoing partnerships with social enterprises across the countries we operate in, like Foodbank Australia, STREAT, who train homeless youth to find their feet through employment in the hospitality industry and Maggs Day Centre in the United Kingdom, supporting our community where it matters.

In the last 12 months, we have ramped up our partnership with OzHarvest (Australia), KiwiHarvest (New Zealand) and Worcester Foodbank (United Kingdom) donating a total of 171,877 meals. we are humbled to know that our contribution it able to support these organisations with their amazing work.

Christmas Cups to Support to Homeless

In the UK, we donate 10% of our Christmas BioCups profits to Shelter, who support the homeless over the cold winter months.

BioPak collaborated with OzHarvest in Australia, bringing joy and sustainability to the holiday season with these award-winning Christmas BioCups. These cups feature a message that reads, “For the cost of a coffee, you can feed people in need” calling for coffee drinkers to donate to those in need over the Christmas period. BioPak also donates 5% of cup sales to OzHarvest.
