Looking for compostable coffee cup lids? Our lids are made from rapidly renewable resources, like PLA Bioplastic, Paper and Plant Fibre with no added PFAS. We’ll dive into different material options now.
Plant Fibre Coffee Cup Lids
Our Plant Fibre Coffee Lids are made from reclaimed, rapidly renewable sugarcane pulp – a by-product of the sugar-refining industry. We combine this sugarcane pulp with other plant-based pulp to create ‘plant fibre.’ An extremely versatile, strong and inexpensive solution that looks just like molded cardboard.
We have a range of Plant Fibre Lids with no added PFAS. They’re certified home compostable to Australian Standards (AS5810). So once you’ve finished your coffee, place your lid right in your home compost or bokashi bin.
BioPak is undertaking a mammoth effort to transform our entire plant fibre range to contain no added PFAS. You can expect our entire range of plant fibre lids to have no intentionally added PFAS in the near future.
Our Plant Fibre Lids come in a range of styles, colours and styles, including:
Check the individual product description to find out if it has no added PFAS.
Bioplastic Coffee Cup Lids
Our PLA Bioplastic lids look like traditional plastic lids, but they’re made from plants. They’re certified industrially compostable to Australian Standards (AS4726) and designed for the circular economy.
Our Bioplastic Lids pair perfectly with industrially compostable Coffee Cups, as both can be sent to a commercial compost facility together (no separation required).
Our PLA lids are available in black or white, a range of sizes, and reclosable or open options.
Paper Coffee Cup Lids Lined With Bioplastic
We have a small range of Paper BioCup Lids lined with PLA Bioplastic. These are certified industrially compostable to Australian Standards (AS4726).
PS (Plastic) Coffee Cup Lids
We have a range of affordable PS (plastic) Coffee Cup Lids. BioPak will be phasing out all single-use plastic items and we strongly encourage you to use our certified compostable coffee lid alternatives where you can.
Pair With Certified Compostable Coffee Cups
BioPak paper cups for coffee and hot drinks are made with heavy-duty, premium paperboard. Then they’re lined with either:
-
PLA Bioplastic – a bioplastic made from plants like corn and cassava.
-
Aqueous – a water based dispersion coating.
-
PHA – a lining made from renewable resources, like plant sugars and vegetable oils.
These cups pair perfectly with compostable coffee cup lids, as both can be disposed of in a compost facility together.

Are BioPak’s Hot Cup Lids Considered ‘Eco-Friendly ’ or 'Environmentally Friendly'?
Are you looking for ‘eco-friendly cup lids’ to reduce your environmental impact? Our customers often refer to our plant fibre and PLA bioplastic lids as ‘eco-friendly’.
However, we choose to steer away from this phrase to prevent greenwashing. Instead, we opt for phrases like certified compostable Cup Lids, which can be substantiated and backed up by certifications.
How to Dispose of Compostable Coffee Cup Lids
